Single Volunteers of Bucks County (SVBC) is a group of busy, energetic singles who enjoy making a difference for our communities and meeting new single friends.
SVBC was formed by Marge Meehan and Charlene Briegel in June 1998. It is modeled after the national organization, Single Volunteers of America. To view other chapters around the country and world check out http://www.singlevolunteers.org
Single Volunteers of Bucks County build houses and friendships. Since SVBC's inception the group has provided countless volunteers for over 1000 hours of community service. Single Volunteers of Bucks County (SVBC) work with many local nonprofit organizations to help the needy. Among them -- Aid to Friends, Churchville Nature Center, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America, Habitat for Humanity, Interfaith Housing, American Diabetes Association, Family Services, Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation, Five Mile Woods, and many more. To see our upcoming volunteer projects and how you can join in the fun of volunteering, please see the listings under "Volunteer Events".
SVBC is not a dating or matchmaking service. It is an opportunity to do volunteer work and meet other singles. As SVBC grows, we will continue to add projects to better serve the community and our members.

How does Single Volunteers work for me and the community? The concept behind Single Volunteers is simple. Find projects with nonprofit organizations where SVBC volunteers can help--jobs from answering phones for telethons to building houses to staffing blood drives or stuffing envelopes. Staff and project leaders compile a team who get together in a productive, positive environment and get the job done and done wonderfully well.
Becoming a Volunteer is easy. Membership to SVBC is free. All we ask is your time to do community work. We do not require you to do a certain number of events as we know how busy life can be. To join simply fill out a data form so your name can be placed on the call list for volunteer projects. Join us when you can. Data forms are available at every meeting, events, or here on our website. Join us.
