Akron General Medical Center is one of the largest non-profit hospitals in northeast Ohio, serving over 1.2 million people throughout Northeast Ohio.
Support from volunteers helps them meet the needs of their patients and the community.

In 1982, based on a commitment by community leaders to help the increasing number of families requesting food assistance, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank was formed.  Their motto:  Helping to Feed People in Need.  It's a pledge they have made to our community to end hunger in Summit, Stark, Portage, Medina, Wayne, Holmes, Tuscarawas and Carroll counties.

Cascade Locks Park Association
Incorporated in 1989 for the purpose of designing, planning and implementing the Cascade Locks Park from Locks 10-16 along the Ohio & Erie Canal while preserving, protecting and promoting the industrial, cultural and commercial heritage of the area. Cascade Locks Park is the southernmost segment of the 1500-acre Cascade Valley Metro Park and serves as the gateway from the Cuyahoga Valley National Park into downtown Akron.

The County of Summit Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities provides services to more than 2,500 individuals with disabilities and their families in Summit County. Services can be provided from the time an infant is diagnosed with a developmental disability, or prior to age 22, if an incident should occur that results in a disability.

Established in 1961, Hattie Larlham expanded from the Center for Children with Disabilities in Mantua, OH to provide care through community homes, home and foster care services, an integrated day care, and family care management.
