SVA Events |
Our Volunteering Activities: Each volunteer activity aims to have 6 or more members working in close proximity on a worthwhile project. Events are typically 2 to 4 hours long. Volunteering in a group provides singles the opportunity to get to know each other. Socializing is encouraged following volunteer events (usually lunch, dinner, or drinks). Single Volunteers provides a new, fun and productive way for singles to meet while improving, in some small way, the world that we all share. Once organized by our Volunteer Events Committee, the events are published on the "SVA Event Calendar". Sign-ups for events are made by emailing the Event Leader. More details (such as directions, things to bring, etc.) for each event will be emailed by the Event Leader to the volunteers who have been selected to participate. These volunteers should then turn up at the right place, at the right time, with the right equipment, and have some fun while helping a good cause. We encourage the Event Leader to plan a social activity before or after each volunteer event. It's simple, really - we're just trying to bring single people together in a productive, positive environment. Most of our volunteer event ideas come from our members. If you've found a worthwhile cause that you'd like SVA to support, please let us know. You may contact a member of our Volunteer Projects Committee, or fill out a Volunteer Request Form.
